Scrap Fabric Garland

I absolutely love the idea of making use of scrap fabric. I have so much and never know what to make with it. This would be ideal for birthdays or any party at all! It was really fun to make since you get to rip fabric and it doesn't have to look perfect.

Have some twine to use for the stringing. Yarn, hemp, or any other string would probably work too.
Grab some scrap fabric that kind of correlates in colors. These are actually old aprons that I found.

Cut a small nick in the fabric about an inch in width. Some fabric you can just rip and it will stay along that line, others won't. You can make the piece as long as you want just not too short.

Tie them onto the string. I doubled up my twine to make it sturdier.

And there you have it! A gorgeous addition to any window or party!

Geez, it's that time again. Junk drawer dumping.

Yup, the moment I dread most about spring cleaning. Time to pull the junk drawer out and dump everything into a box. It's amazing what you accumulate in a year, I must say I am not proud of the "junk" that was lurking beneath the twisty ties and half eaten m&ms. I'm not sure how a small box can ferment, but it did. Haha, I was like "what the!?" Yea, not cool. So I got rid of the whole junk drawer entirely and revamped it. Take a looksy!

Yellow wallpaper that I found at goodwill! Hooray!
Finally, a new home for my dishtowels!
Now to revamp the kitchen table. I never iron my tablecloths but it made a huge difference!
I love my cork placemats! They're so cheery and delightful.
Spring is here!
Now now, what to do with the junk that was in the drawer? Well of course you gotta recycle it somehow! I've decided to make a pen holder using my tea canister.
Wrap it in bright colored cardstock and slap a label on there and you're done! Easy peasy!

Squishy, fluffy, tufted pillows

Here's one more addition to my couch decor! I made it last night. Frodo seems to like it too.

Recycled Flowers

I actually saw these a long time ago while window shopping. I finally found the instructables off of Zakka Life. Here are mine! Hope you guys enjoy!

How to: Cut a magazine horizontally in a third. Make sure it's the kind with the staples. Take each piece of paper, curl and glue to the bottom edge of the previous paper. Don't connect the last piece which was the beginning piece, set to dry. After it's secure, glue the last piece which will turn it into a flower.

It's the Day of Love after all!

From roses to pom pom garland, there's all sorts of ways to add that Valentine's Day splash to your abode without shelling out an arm & a leg.
Are your bouquet of roses looking a little cliche this year? Cut them down and poke into an oasis ball. Voila! A hanging flower ball.

Super cheap and super easy! Requires one styrofoam wreath, one skein of creme yarn, red & green felt, & buttons.

Have any boring books laying around? Put them to good use and make a wreath! Rip out the pages and stain them with tea or coffee. Buy a wooden circle and assemble with glue. Top off with an adorable centerpiece.

How cute is this window garland! Purchase some heavy scrapbook paper and cut into 4 different sized strips. Use 8 per heart (not including the center piece) and staple into place! String through the top of the middle strip and connect all the hearts. So easy your kid could do it!

I squealed when I saw this pom pom window decoration! Use fishing line and thread through pink and red pom poms. Make several different ones and tie all the strings onto a long stick. Then hang above window!

Buy some thick coated wire from Michaels or Lowes and shape into any word you desire. Wrap it in any color yarn. So cute! It'd be perfect for a kid's name and to put it on their door.
